Telehealth

A telehealth visit is a video conference with a Valle Verde Pediatrics provider that can often replace an in-office visit, based on certain qualifying conditions. Ask us or keep reading to learn more!

Telehealth appointments can be requested via the MyChart app. To download the app, visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once downloaded, follow the following instructions: 

1. In the app, click “New Appointment.”

2. Select the visit reason that fits your needs. 

3. You will see a provider list, plus the next available appointment.

4. Select the date and time you prefer and add your appointment details.

Telehealth appointments for Valle Verde Pediatrics patients are conducted during regular business hours.

Yes, our providers can often treat minor illnesses, injuries, and other health concerns virtually. We will begin the visit by asking specific questions about your child’s medical history, then observe your child via video. In many cases, this process is enough to make a diagnosis and create a treatment plan. Your virtual provider also has access to your child’s medical records and can prescribe medication(s).

If your child needs an in-person visit for any reason, we will help you schedule one to ensure your child gets a complete and comprehensive evaluation.

It’s best to conduct the visit in a private, quiet, and well-lit area with a stable internet connection. Turn off the TV to minimize distractions, and put other children or pets in another room. For safety reasons, you should never conduct a telehealth visit from a moving vehicle.

We recommend preparing just like you would for an in-office visit, jotting down any questions or concerns ahead of time. We also recommend logging on a few minutes early in case there are any technical issues. Your child (the patient) must be present for the visit. Please also have your child’s current medication list and any other pertinent information nearby. 

Yes, you will receive a text message and email confirming your child’s appointment details, including the date, time, and instructions for joining the telehealth visit.

All telehealth visits are conducted through the MyChart app, and existing patients are not required to pay any fees in advance. Your insurance company will be billed first, and then you are responsible for any portion the insurance company does not cover.
