Dr. Daly specializes in psychological testing and evaluation for children and adolescents ages 6 to 18.  Using the most reliable and effective diagnostic tests, Dr. Daly provides the following evaluations and offers solutions that address your child’s needs.

Psycho-educational:  A comprehensive evaluation to assess academic struggles, developmental disabilities, and learning disabilities such as:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism, Asperger’s Disorder, Developmental Deficits
  • Dyslexia
  • Auditory and visual processing deficits
  • Memory and sensory deficits
  • Learning disabilities

Psychological:  A comprehensive evaluation to determine why someone has a mental health problem and what form of treatment will work best for them. A psychological evaluation can evaluate:

  • Psychological conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, oppositional behavior, and other mental health concerns.

Neuropsychological:  A thorough evaluation to determine overall cognitive ability.  This type of evaluation is needed when:

  • A child sustains a head injury and exhibits some change in behavior or shows concerning psychological problems.  

Intelligence:  This test measures cognitive ability, which is a predictor of academic success.  This is the most widely used and accepted test to predict how a child will perform at school.

Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Daly received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Saint Mary's College in Orchard Lake, MI. He obtained his Master's and Doctoral Degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in San Diego. After completing his degree, Dr. Daly was awarded a one year residency in Los Angeles in which he specialized in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children's psychological, behavioral, emotional, developmental, and cognitive functioning. After finishing his residency, he moved back to San Diego with his wife.

He is married to Tracy, who is the dietition for San Diego Sports Medicine and SDSU. Tracy also provides nutritional counseling here at Valle Verde Pediatrics for children and adolescents.

Out of the office, Dr. Daly enjoys the finer things San Diego has to offer such as golf, surfing, skiing, and tennis.
