Comprehensive friendly care
We offer comprehensive health care from birth all the way through the college years. Dr. Nathan Rendler has been taking care of our patients since 1990, and is now also enjoying the privilege of providing care for his patients’ children- the next generation! Dr. Kuangkai Tai joined us in 2000, and the two of them are active members of the community, contributing to the schools, religious organizations, various charities and youth sports. Amanda Wolfe, CPNP joined our team in 2019. She is a native of Poway and is excited to care for the children of her home town. We take pride in getting to know our patients and their families, and encourage open and friendly communication to meet their health care needs.
Choose your doctor
Many of us remember the way medicine used to be- growing up with the same doctor whom your family knew and trusted. We remain committed to those same old-fashioned ideals, and enjoy practicing in a smaller, more personalized private practice setting. Since we’re not a large clinic, our patients can always see the doctor of their choice for all well checkups and usually for sick visits. Our experienced staff knows our patients and their preferences, and is always willing to try to schedule patient requests for the pediatrician of their choice. Our providers look forward to getting to know you on a personal level and to building a long term relationship with you.
Availability
We offer same day appointments for sick visits, and will schedule well checkups and sports and camp physicals on short notice. We also accommodate patients for visits on Saturday mornings. New patients are always welcome and we look forward to meeting expectant parents to answer their questions. Convenient x-ray, lab, and emergency facilities are located nearby.
We enjoy serving the greater San Diego area, including 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Torrey Highlands and Carmel Valley, as well as Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Ramona, Rancho Penasquitos, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch and Rancho Santa Fe; patients also come to see us from as far away as Julian and Borrego Springs.
We believe in helping as many patients as possible as families struggle with affordable health care. Therefore, we accept self pay, as well as a wide range of health plans, from various PPO’s, HMO’s through the Children’s Physicians Medical Group, Healthy Families, Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal HMO’s, and Tri-West. Military families are always welcome and we appreciate their service for our country.
Our physicians do not rely on an answering service but take their own call, 24/7, and as needed, and can schedule an appointment for you for the following day. Soon we’ll be able to take on-line appointment requests, making it even easier to schedule visits that fit in with your busy lifestyle.
Behavioral Health Evaluations
Integrated Health Therapy at Valle Verde Pediatrics
In collaboration with Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego, Valle Verde Pediatrics has an Integrated Health Therapist (IHT) located in our office. The IHT serves as an integral member of our primary care team and works closely with our pediatricians. The IHT program allows us to bring our patients mental and behavioral health services alongside medical health in a holistic way. IHTs are available in the same office as our pediatricians for a seamless integration of care. IHTs provide a comprehensive suite of services including: counseling, education on behavioral health topics, connection to community health resources, talk therapy, problem solving, and crisis intervention.
